Active Maintenance Dental Care

Booking in for emergency appointments every once in a while will end up costing more in the long run, as alot of the time, by the time there are symptoms of pain, prognosis of tooth is already quite poor. Often this results in much more costly procedures such as root canal therapy or even crown and bridges/dental implants if the tooth is lost. 

Active maintenance appointments, or sometimes just called your regular check up and clean appointment (we prefer the term active maintenance, as so much more occurs than a simple check up and clean) are a small investment regularly, however will net you rewards much further down in life. 

Costs?

At Balmoral Dental Centre, we are fairly priced, depending on personal needs and health funds. expect the cost of a regular active maintenance appointment to cost between $180-240. This amount is BEFORE any health fund rebates.

What should I expect at these Active Maintenance appointments?

  • Professional Dental Scale and Clean (114)
    Air and water polishing using the NSK prophy mate with Flash Pearl™ included with your dental clean, stain removal from areas traditional scaling couldn’t reach. also reduces the amount of physical scaling required meaning more comfortable cleans!
  • Remineralisation Treatment (121) Generally we prefer the use of fluoride, however should you have special needs, other remineralisation agents are available upon request
  • Oral Mucosal Screening (054)*
  • Oral Hygiene Instructions (141)**
  • Photographic records/Digital Imaging (072)**

*At Balmoral Dental Centre, we stress how important regular screening of oral cancer and other diseases within the mouth can be. We never charge the gap for this item, and if you have no health fund, there will be no cost associated with this procedure.

**These may or may not be required depending on a per case basis, furthermore, we generally DO NOT charge for these even when they are required (the full amount will be discounted at the bottom of your bill, but they will put through for record keeping purposes)
