NSK Prophy-Mate
At Balmoral Dental Centre we use a state-of-the-art Prophy-Mate Dental Air Polisher after all our scale and cleans to give your teeth a final shine and polish. It is an enhanced air-powered tooth polishing system that works by directing a pressurised fine polishing powder spray onto the surfaces of the teeth . Compared to conventional methods, it is gentler on the teeth and gums and at the same time more effective at removing stubborn plaque and stains, especially in hard to reach spaces between the teeth where some of our instruments are unable clean.
FLASH pearl powder
The FLASH pearl powder used with the Prophy-Mate is made up of tiny spherical particles that roll across the tooth surface gently. This quickly remove stains and plaque without abrading the enamel. After polishing with this powder, the tooth surface is left with a smoother and brighter finish compared to the results of sharper-edged particles of the powders and pastes used by conventional polishing systems.
Our Prophy-Mate together with FLASH pearl powder leaves your teeth sparking white without damaging the tooth enamel.
Flash Pearls Vs Conventional Sodium Bi-Carbonate Powder
FLASH pearl granules are small and spherical compared to particles of sodium bi-carbonate powder.
This means more contact and better access to clean all areas, and provides greater treatment safety.
